  1. I was really glad that John chose St. Teresa of Avila's Feast Day (celebrated on October 15) as the perfect example of how to use the Monastic Diurnal for special feast days.

Because October is the month of her feast day, and John had used her feast day as the Diurnal example, we decided to include several excerpts from her book in the newsletter also, for those who may not be familiar with this wonderful and holy saint. St. Teresa of Avila is a Doctor of the Church (she is a Doctor of Prayer) and her book called "The Way of Perfection" was a huge help to me.

    Blessings to you all.

    Enjoy!

  2. My family missed the November meeting because we were on vacation. We visited relatives in the mid-west, and my parents surprised me by taking me to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, AL on the way home. (Home of Mother Angelica of EWTN). It was an exciting visit. We visited the new Lourdes Grotto there, the Nativity Chapel, went to Mass in the lower church, and attended a healing service. We also enjoyed a talk by Father Wade Menezes about venerating the Saints. They also have a nice gift shop. If you are ever up that way, it is a nice place to stop for prayer and reflection. Blessings, Cheryl L.
