Annual oblate retreat Oct. 1-3, 2010

The St. Leo oblates' annual retreat at St. Leo Abbey has been scheduled by Abbot Isaac for October 1-3, 2010.

The retreat will begin the evening of Friday, October 1 and end Sunday, October 3, 2010.  The program and schedule are being prepared.  Costs will be posted as soon as they are set.  The annual oblate retreat is the favorite event of the oblate year for many oblates.

The feast day for Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Virgin and Doctor of the Church is Friday, October 1, 2010.  The feast day for the Holy Guardian Angels is Saturday, October 2, 2010. Both Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Guardian Angels are depicted in two of the stained-glass windows in the Abbey's Church of the Holy Cross.  

You might want to pick a theme for yourself as you begin preparing for the retreat -- Saint Therese and the Guardian Angels might be good subjects for such a personal theme in the weeks leading up to the retreat.
