Lent begins on Wednesday, March 6, with the celebration of Ash Wednesday.

Mass with the distribution of Ashes on Ash Wednesday will be at 12:00 pm in the Saint Leo Abbey Church.

Ashes will be given again, in the Church, between 1:30 pm-4:30 pm.

“Remember, O man, that dust thou art, and to dust thou shalt return.”  In Latin, “Memento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris.” 

The truth of mankind's creation and end comes from God in the Book of Genesis, "you are dust and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:19

I like Bill Fulton's sketch because the person receiving the ashes has such a calm expression of inner peace, as if to remember only this steadfast Word: if we died together with Him -- we also shall live together with Him. 2 Timothy 2:11.
