Brother Sebastian, O.S.B., Temporary Profession. Abbot Isaac 25th Anniversary.

The video above is at the end of the ceremony on July 11, 2013, at the Saint Leo Abbey church when Brother Sebastian Torres, O.S.B., made is temporary profession according to the Rule of Saint Benedict.

The Rt. Rev. Abbot Isaac Camacho, O.S.B., celebrated his 25th anniversary of being a monk.

Above video -- Abbot Issac who made these same vows 25 years ago today -- on the Feast of Saint Benedict -- leaves the abbey church after presiding at the ceremony during which Abbot Isaac said to Brother Sebastian:
"You have completed your year of novitiate, and today you stand in the midst of your brothers, before God and his angels and saints, to make your first vows of stability in this community, conversion through a monastic manner of life, and obedience according to the Rule of our Holy Father Benedict and the law proper to our Congregation."
Abbot Isaac gave a homily on the monastic life -- the life of seeking God and concluded with the encouragement to consecrate all time to Him.

It was a happy ceremony, several rounds of applause and some funny comments from Abbot Isaac.

At the end of the above video, as Abbot Issac is leaving the church, at the back left side of the church are the very kind ladies who work at the abbey.  Always gracious to everyone, they are good representatives of the abbey's Benedictine ways.

The next two videos show the entrance procession:

The next video below is when all the monks hug Brother Sebastian at the end of the ceremony:

  4. Congratulations to Brother Sebastian, your constant joyful spirit is an inspiration to me.

Abbot Isaac, congratulations to you also for your 25th anniversary as a monk! The restoration work you are doing at the Abbey is so beautiful - how fortunate we all are to have your steady hand guiding the Abbey into the future. It is such an uplifting experience just to be on the grounds.

May God bless you both, and also St. Leo Abbey and all who find their way there.
