  1. In "Letters to My Brothers and Sisters" Subiaco Congregation Abbot President Denis Huerre, OSB, describes "Conversio" as it relates to monastic asceticism, liturgy and stability and conversio in relation to guests. Although he is addressing monks and sisters, I find his words eminently applicable to myself as an oblate. At times, I have felt concerned that I might be intruding on the rhythym of the monastery by my very presence, but Dom Huerre provides insight into what might be expected of a guest who is received as Christ by the monk who expresses the hospitality of Christ. We then as oblates have the privilege of representing Christ and being received in His very name.
